Many people are hurting and scared right now. Let’s admit that not everyone understands everyone else’s point of view. But, it doesn’t matter whether you get it.
What matters is that you acknowledge reality, make an effort, and actually say and do something constructive and helpful.
Do not explain away the feelings of other people. Do not try to see things from their point of view by looking through your own lenses and filters. Do not pretend you care if you really do not. Do not fake it until you make it.
Instead, say and do just one thing . . . today, tomorrow, and the next day . . . and the day after that.
Tell someone who does not look, talk, or think like you that you see, hear, value, love, and respect them. They might be a friend, neighbor, family member, co-worker, or total stranger. Chances are, they need to hear it. So, be the one to say it. Then, be the one to do it.
Lather. Rinse. Repeat.
